Susan Flannery Update!
Monday, September 17 2007
Stephanie's gone..but not for long! (Soaps.com)Soaps.com is happy to report that we've spoken with one of our friends over at the show and have found that the notably absent Susan Flannery will be reporting back to The Bold and the Beautiful set this week to resume taping! The Emmy award-winning actress has been greatly missed as the storyline involving Brooke's attack has come to a pinnacle.
Soaps.com and it's readers have felt concern recently because the New York-born actress was said to be ill. A source at The Bold and the Beautiful has told us that Susan was indeed 'under the weather' prior to their summer hiatus, and then on top of that, had some already scheduled vacation time requested that extended her hiatus.
Scheming Stephanie will return Oct.19th! (Soaps.com)Soaps.com readers have missed the character of Stephanie rather acutely of late, because she is due to face up to her nemesis, Brooke, in a current storyline. Brad Bell had to 'tweak' the story to allow for Susan's time off, but B&B's fans can expect to see an eventual culmination in this storyline.
Our source at The Bold and the Beautiful also revealed that Stephanie will first appear in scenes again beginning October 19th! Mark your calendars!
Glad to hear you're healthy and will be back soon, Susan!

Bold and Beautiful: Susan Flannery Visits with TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco Submitted by Luke on March 4, 2008 - 11:57pm.
Bold and Beautiful Nelson Branco Susan Flannery TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco has an awesome interview with the Bold & Beautiful icon Susan Flannery in which he asks her about the recent reports that she is looking forward to retirement, possibly very soon. He also asks her about Stephanie's involvement in Brooke's rape. We've got that exceprt for you but be sure to check out the entire interview.
TVG: How did you feel about Stephanie being indirectly responsible for setting Brooke’s rape in motion?
SF: [sighs] I was not happy about that. That was the only time I said to Brad, ‘I don’t think this is right,’ as far as Stephanie’s involvement. I said to him, ‘You can not have her directly responsible for setting this in motion, because the audience will never forgive Stephanie for hurting another woman.’ Moreover, Eric and Ridge would never forgive her. When they backed off, and made it that Stephanie inadvertently set the rape up, I mean, that was enough guilt that we could work with from an emotional perspective.

In 1987, The Bold and the Beautiful debuted on daytime television as the soap full of glamour, cutting-edge fashion, and glitz. It's flashy opening, complete with beautiful glamour shots of its cast and upbeat music, perfectly fit the show's mood. Fast-forward 17 years and B&B was still featuring this as its opening. By 2004, it had become ancient. It desperately needed a revamp. On July 2nd, 2004, B&B finally updated its opening. It still keeps with the show's tradition of fashion, glamour, flash photography, models, and beauty. The opening features one model being photographed by a photographer. Then we zoom into the lens and we see B&B's new "B&B" logo and then see a series of posed cast shots. Finally, we are not seeing Susan Flannery and Katherine Kelly Lang sporting 80's hairdos! The addition of character names attached to each castmember isn't exactly needed. In fact, it'd be better if they included their real-life names like sister soap, The Young and the Restless. By now, 4-time Emmy-winning Susan Flannery deserves special billing of her own (i.e. "And Susan Flannery as Stephanie Forrester"). The music is the same melody, but it's been spiced up and then sensually slows down at the end. It's a very nice touch. Overall, the opening is a welcome change that was sorely needed
