I used to display ads on my pages, albeit not currently - it simply does not generate enough money to have any practical impact, and takes space on the pages. If you see any ads on my pages at present, your ISP is adding them, or you have spyware on your computer that does so. Alternatively, you may be visiting my pages through frames of another site. In this case, use one of the above URLs to visit my site instead.

I usually indicate new pages with a icon in index pages. Usually, this icon remains until the next major addition of new pages in the same section of the web site. I also update pages whenever new information is available, or whenever I discover errors. Updates happens fairly often for many pages of this site, and may range from the correction of misspellings to major additions and/or alterations of contents. I mark updated pages with an icon only if the changes are substantial (e.g., major errors have been corrected, or significant materials have been added). The best way for you to know when a page was last updated is to check the "last updated" file date at the head of each page. This is actually the date the file was last saved on the server, so it may reflect a change in contents, or only cosmetic changes to the layout (which I try to keep updated in order to function with current browser versions), or changes of my web authoring tools. In order to be able to see this and other active contents on my pages, you need to enable JavaScript for this site.

Pages on this web site are optimized to display on a screen and in a window with a width of at least 1024 pixels. If the screen or window is smaller, a warning is displayed just below the top banner (also this requires JavaScript to be enabled). Of course you can display my pages in a smaller window, but you may need to scroll horizontally to see everything. Many of my pages are quite long, so in any case you need to scroll vertically. This site is not suitable for display on mobile devices with smaller screens, and I have no plans to make it compatible with these.

I have tested, and found this site to work, with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8 and Firefox version 3.*. Other versions and other browsers may work, but I test only with the above.

This web site was hacked on May 17, 2000 (when it still was running Microsoft IIS on another host). The home page was substituted with this. Parts of this site are hosted on one or more privately-run Apache servers and/or embedded Linux servers, while other parts are hosted on commercial servers.
