Denna sida på svenska. Meet my new pets - Bastian and Milou!

I wanted to own a couple of spiny mice, since I was curious as to how they are as pets. When I learned that there is at least one good breeder of spiny mice here in Sweden I ordered two pet spiny mice. It took a while until they were born and then a while more until I got them.

Then at last on the 10th of December 2005 they arrived. Two little spiny balls, with huge black curious eyed. So pretty!

Milou is born on the 1st of August 2005, and Bastian is born on the 21st of August 2005. They have the same father but different mothers.

They are still young and don't have their full colour yet. I believe they will look more golden and less grey when they are fully grown.

Now I am trying to learn as much as possible about these little spine balls.

Here is a photo of Milou in a small paper box. They actually had this paper box when they arrived. So far I've learned that they really like paper boxes and paper rolls. And they want them small, no huge houses to live in, only small and cozy sleeping places. I found out by trial and error that they like hay, which they seem to eat, and ladders and other stuff they can climb.

I have been told that they eat almost everything. Except that I immediately realized that they love baby food, I have also found out that they love millet (which not even their breeder knew about).
