English Blue (Blue)
Overall impression: Shall be a light and glittering extreme blue colour without tinges, white hairs or spots. Colour to be carried down the skin. Belly colour not to be lighter than top colour.
Feet: English Blue.
Eye colour: Black.
Other name/s: Slate (US), Selen (TRV).
Genetics: (aagg, g not scientifically described).
Known since: 1989 (US). In standards in the NFRS as Blue. In England believed to be aadd... Known since 1990 in the US, In standards as Blue (AFRMA). This gene was imported to Sweden from England in 1995.

NOTE: English Blue and German Blue produces only black when mated to eachother, so these genes are situated on different loci. The gene "g" is not yet scientifically described, as far as I know.

Self Powder Blue - aagg+? Eye colour: ruby. Here is a litter from Råtz Stud, mainly English Blues, but also a Powder Blue. The colour Powder Blue is called Self Lilac in England.

Note that the English Blue does not have any ticking, as in Russian Blue and in German Blue. Instead it has usually been very light in colour and have a very light undercolour. Today much darker English Blues exists.
