Runatun Ulla was a lilac (?) female, that I got from Runatun Stud. Her father was Runatun Riandro, a ruby eyed fawn coloured rat, and her mother was Runatun Ventura, a dove female. Ulla was born on the 22nd of November 1998. I saw all her siblings, she had one brother called Runatun Uffe that stayed at Runatun Stud. Uffe had exactly the same colour as Ulla. I see in my papers that she had three silver fawn siblings, one agouti, one dove, one lynx, and one more strange coloured sibling in a colour that was not the same as hers and Uffe's, that we called "Havanna" at the time.
When I write this, in January 2006, I've just owned a lilac rat (based on German Blue) and my recollection tells me that Ulla and Uffe looked almost excactly like that colour. The Havanna-coloured sibling on the other hand did not.
Ulla was a very nice tempered rat, but I never planned to breed from her, I only planned to keep her as a pet since her colour wasn't silver fawn... And her colour... Many people looked at her and all had different views on what colour she really was. Sadly enough she looks darker in the photo than she really was, so it hard to really say anything today about what colour she was. I have her pedigree for generations back, though :-)
In the photo she is with her sister Runatun Utrilla, that I helped to place in a good home as a pet rat. Utrilla changed name into "Nephelos" at her new home. The photo was taken when they were still babies.

I mated her once, and got a litter with interesting colours and good temper.
Ullas was mated to Blueberry and they had a litter of eight babies, my Ii-litter.
I just found a note that says she went back to Runatun Stud to be mated and have a litter on the 15th of August 1999, when she was an adult rat. I don't remember if I got her back or if she stayed there. I know she was never sold or anything, so either she stayed there or I got her back again.
I don't know how many litters Uffe had, but I know he was the father of one of my best rats ever - Runatun Xi. Uffe had been mated to a silver fawn female called Runatun Varia and when I got Xi I also got his mother at the same time. Today I wish I had gotten all of Xi's siblings too :-)
