Sessan was bought in a pet shop in the city of Gothenburg, here in Sweden. She is a silver fawn, not too badly coloured at all :-) I just happen to love silver fawns so I was quite delighted to get Sessan from a friend of mine. Sessan is slowgoing and very gentle rat. Sessan was a gift to me from afriend of mine, who has Arinella's Stud.
Sessan's friend Albina is an albino laboratory rat, a Wistar rat. She is probably the last laboratory rat I will get my hands on, which is sad since I really like those pink eyes in all that white fur...
Albina is the outgoing running around rat, and Sessan is the shy one. The photos above of Sessan & Albina together was taken in December 2003. Sessan was born on the 20th of February 2002 so she is 2 years old in the photos. Albina was born on the 27th of August 2003, so she is just a big baby.
In the photo to the left, Angel - Sessans's former cage mate who died, is to the right and Sessan to the left. Angel was a super pet rat, a cuddly bundle of joy. Angel was a fawn but that is hard to see in this photo, I'm not such a great ratty photographer! If you look close you can see that Angel's eyes are much darker that Sessan's, though.
Here is my shy little Sessan as a baby, trying to hide on the blanket by just making herself flat :-)
