Ixy was a big laboratory rat that I got as an adult, he was a Wistar rat, my second male Wistar. Ixy was born on the 23rd of October 1994 and moved in at my place the 14th of April 1995.

Ixy was great pet, it took me only two weeks to get him tame after bringing him home. Here is the History of Ixy. I had lots of fun with Ixy, he entered in agility competitions among other things. He didn't do that well, he usually ended up last, and once he fell asleep on the table, but he gave us a big laugh. He also had a lovely personality that impressed people, so he was quite popular, as some rats can be.
Ixy was not a small rat, he weighed 740 grams on the 27th of June 1996, and that was just how he was.
Sadly enough he only lived for 2 years and 2 months, he died on the 23rd of December 1996.
Ixy was not good at agility, but he sure liked the agility fences.
Here's a photo of Ikaros & Ixy together, taking a nap really close to their potty... Ikaros is almost asleep, but Ixy wants to know what I am doing. Ixy & Ikaros was very close friends, and often slept very closely together.

Ixy died on the 23rd of December 1996, the same day as his very good friend Ikaros. He was put to speep because of a tumour. Ixy lived to be 2 years and 2 months.
