Iuri was my silver fawn female from Ann Storey in England. I was promised two pretty silver fawns from England, but the male died right before I got him. Iuri was born on the 20th of July 1994, and I got her on the 13th of April 1995. She had had one litter but after that she did not get pregnant again even after seeing several different males. She was sterile. That was the reason I got her but it didn't bother me, since I wanted her as a pet.
Iuri's full name was Rivendell Feasting On Mice On The Island Of Guernsey. A too long name to use everyday... so I soon renamed her Iuri.
Iuri was a large rat when I got her, not just that she was not a baby but she was a big female. She also had her own ideas about things, She was tame, since she had lived as a pet, but she was also a bit bossy. She wanted attention. If she did not get attention she nibbled on your toes... It took me and a friend a whole long time to train her to stop that behaviour. Otherwise she was a great pet.
The day after I got Iuri me and Ann-Zophi went to get a friend for Iuri. We ended up with Ixy. Ixy was a big laboratory rat male, since Iuri was sterile it was fine to give her a male as a friend. If she had gotten pregnant anyway that would not have been a problem since the litter would have been all silver fawns, and they were popular back then. (Ixy was a Wistar, and they are genetically silver fawns, even though they are albinos too.)
When I had Iuri & Ixy I also got a new male, called Ikaros. He was another silver fawn.
Iuri had a big dog as one of her best friends, and it was very amusing to see her dominating that big dog, and using him as her own personal toy and pillow. She used to use one of his legs to put her head on when resting on the bed, and she got upset with him if he moved. In the photos above she is staying close to her dog, since she felt safe with him, but got a bit scared by the flash.
When I took the photos of Iuri and Ixy together she had already gotten over her shyness :-)
