Fnutten was a true favourite rat. He was orange, he had curly fur, and he was extremely gentle and mild. I went to my first rat show, and found a whole litter of silver fawn rex rats, so I just bought one, and brought him home under my clothes, sitting in my hand on the bus. That was Fnutten. The photo of Fnutten to the right was taken in August 1989.

Fnutten was born on the 28th of October 1988, and he was just a tiny little baby when I bought him. Much smaller than Råttis & Thumpi were when I got them.

Fnutten was my first pedigree rat, and his pedigree name was Aphrodite's Count Dracula. A stupid name for such a gentle rat, I thought, so I quickly remaned him Fnutten. His grandparents were imported from England, and his parents were littermates just like Råttis & Thumpi. Also he was hooded like Thumpi, even though he was a mismarked hooded, looking a bit like half hooded half european bekshire. So I mated them.

I never kept any of the babies in that litter, but I do remember that they were easy to sell. I remember one of the babies, called Simbad, just because a friend of mine got him. Simbad was an agouti hooded rex. Later my friend got another son of Fnutten, a silver fawn hooded rex called Frazier. Simbad and Frazier were very soon best of friends. Both Frazier and Simbad were extremely nice tempered rats, we could use more of those today, with all the bad temper going on... The photo of Simbad to the left was taken in 1989, August or September, when he was on a visit.

Fnutten made several litters with different females, and he became the foundation sire for my first line of silver fawn rats.

Fnutten's second litter was with Snuttan. There were 9 babies, one silver fawn rex and 8 silver fawn hooded, rex & smooth. I kept the silver fawn rex female, and called her Tingeling, also one of the males in the litter was called Frazier. The photo of Fnutten to the left was taken in April 1989.

Fnutten's third litter was with Sandra. The litter was born on the 14th of June 1989. I can only remember one of the babies, an agouti european berkshire female called Sabina. I sold all the babies in this litter.

Fnutten's fourth litter was with Byzance. The litter was born on the 21th of August 1989. There were only four babies in this litter, which is really few. I kept one baby, an agouti variegated mismarked, called Appolonia. One of the babies went to Byzance's breeder.

This photo was taken in April 1989. Fnutten's fifth litter was with Firestone. The litter was born on the 22nd of August 1989. There were only four babies in this litter too. I kept one baby, a silver fawn rex male, called Berlioz. All babies silver fawns.

Fnutten's sixth litter was with Cherie. The litter was born on the 8th of April 1990. There were seven babies in this litter. This litter was the first under my new registered breeder's prefix Aristoteles, and happily it was a great litter. I kept three babies, Aristoteles Eir, a silver fawn female, Aristoteles Eamon, a silver fawn rex male & Aristoteles Enzio, a silver fawn rex hooded. This was one of my best litters I had before I got Ikaros, and I was real happy about it.
