Trinovantum Queen Anne of Scots, called Annie, was the prettiest rat you could ever imagine. I don't believe I will ever see such a beautiful rat ever again. She also had a good temper. Annie was born on the 5th of December 1988 in England, and she was imported to Sweden. She moved from breeder to breeder, but no-body had a male to mate her with. That is how I came to buy her.

When I bought her she was about a year old, and had never had a litter. I mated her with Snow-White, my Wistar male, since I realized that she was rather closely related to Fnutten.

Here's a photo of Annie and Snow-White together. Annie had a small litter, only five babies, all silver fawns. One of them, called Charon, was a lot paler than all the rest. I kept the one I liked best, and that was Cherie, a nice and pretty rat, that I later bred from.

Since Annie was the prettiest rat I've ever seen I decided to show her. But she didn't win her class, her own daughter Charon won. I was surpriced, and the breeder I had bought her from, who was also a judge, was also very surpriced. I asked the judge how her daughter could win before Annie, showing her both rats, but the judge answered that the best coloured rat won. None of Annies babies had close to the same colour as Annie had, so the judge must have mixed up the rats, and wasn't willing to correct her mistake. I truly did lose a lot of confidence in rat shows because of that.

I was so bad at photographing at this time that I put the animal in the window, with the light from outside this only made the animal look pale...
