Riccia fluitans - floating liverwort, crystalwort

I did get Riccia, as I wanted, and to the left is a rather poor photo of it from the side. It is a useful little plant with small light green leaves that fork in two. It is a typical floating plant. The photo to the right is showing the forked leaves better. The fish in the photo to the left is an Endler baby.

Riccia is mainly useful if you plan to have baby fish to be born and grew up in an aquarium where the parents are living. Also the young can find food in the Riccia plant, since small things tend to live among its leaves. The Riccia plant in itself is small, maybe 3 cm across, but many of them often grow together creating light green floating pillows of plant matter just under the surface, just as in both photos.

This plant has more than one Swedish names, one of those is gaffelmossa, but I have always known it under the name Riccia.
