Lemna minor - duckweed

I got some Lemna minor - English common name is Duckweed - along with the other plants when I bought my new plants. I've had it before and I really don't like it. It grows too fast. I am going to try to get rid of all of them, already I have thrown out a bunch of them. The Swedish name for this plant is andmat. See a close-up of Lemna minor in the picture to the left. Usually you see this plants in the hundreds or thousands, making a layer that covers the surface.

Compare size between Lemna minor and Azolla caroliana, in the photo to the right. The biggest and lightest coloured plant in this photo above is Ceratopteris pteridoides.

Lemna minor, Makro photo taken from the side. The roots of the plants in this photo are about 3 cm long.
