Gerbils as the perfect pets
Denna sida på svenska.
- To have gerbils is to have a big aquarium where they live
and enjoy life. In order to get your gerbils tame you need
to handle them a little every day. They don't like to be picked
up by the tail. But gerbils actually loved being petted, so
don't forget to pet them even if only for a minute a day.
- Gerbils are healthy animals and thrive in large aquaria
with lots of hay, toilet rolls and bedding material.
My gerbils usually have wooden houses too. They chew at their
houses and hide their babies in them.
- Gerbils can become extremely tame and are really perfect pets.
Gerbils do not smell and are extremely inexpensive to keep and feed.
My gerbils can sit on my shoulder and never jumps away. The
younger gerbils have
a tendency to be active all the time and they seem to be almost
unable to sit still for long. But they do calm down with
age, and an older gerbil may be very tame, coming up to you
when you talk to it, loves to sit in your hand and be petted,
and so on - it may even fall asleep in your hand! It is hard
to imagine how tame gerbils can become if
you have not experienced it yourself!
- You only need two gerbils to fill a big aquarium,
no more and no less. Gerbils are highly territorial,
and need lots of space at the same time as they are very social
animals, so pleace keep your gerbils in pairs.
Two males or two females are just perfect!
