Cavies normally have three toes on each back foot and four toes on each front foot. Sometimes they have extra toes. This is not really uncommon, but it is not really a problem either. The condition is supposed to be genetic.
If your piggy has extra toes there is usually nothing to worry about. Extra toes can be removed, many breeders and exhibitors to exactly that.
Extra toes comes in many shapes. Some are just a small toe hanging in a piece of skin, like the one on the drawing. Others are whole toes with bone and all. It is best to let a veterinarian remove any extra toes that may be of discomfort to your cavy.
My advice is: Visit the vet if you want any extra toes
removed from your piggy's feet! Be sure to contact a
vet that is experienced with piggies.
