Hairloss

This page is about piggies that lose hair without scratching. If scratching is involved, it could be parasites or fungi.

This is a photo of my pet Aristoteles Binky, a Lunkaray female that lost most of her fur. No scratching. Most Lunkaryas I've seen (and I've seen a lot) lose their fur at some point of their life, both males and females, but often it grows back. Also most females lose all the fur on their belly when having babies. The hair will grew back. This female is healthy and the Lunkarya females do not have problems during pregnancy or delivery.

Here you can see Milky Way's Fnistan, another of my pet piggies with hairloss. Fnistans hairloss is probably due to a big tumour on her right ovary. (5 cm in diameter.)

Another photo of Fnistan.

Lunkarya hairloss

Here is a photo of the typical Lunkarya hairloss. This female, my pet Aristoteles C, that has lost a lot of fur.

It is also common with general hairloss in Lunkaryas, both females and males can lose so much hair that they look almost bald. Fnistan, on the photos above, is a Curly, which is a short-haired Lunkarya.
