Dompängs Drutten was a Cream Agouti Crested. I found him in a small aquarium in the home of a friend, she wanted to sell me his babies, but I fell in love with Drutten himslelf. He was 16 months old then, and that must have been in July or August 1989.

Drutten was born on the 2nd of February 1988, and he died on the 27th of March 1995. He was extremely spoiled, and he had lots of girls, he was crazy about cavy girls. I think I bought about 6 different cavies just for him. I had only had him a very short while when I bought him Patty, and a year later I bought him Fina, Dessie & Emma. If I remember correctly he had at least one litter with each of them. He had one litter with Patty, and one litter with Fina. Drutten had 3 litters with Dessie, his babies with Dessie was extra beautiful. He also had one litter with Emma.

Drutten was extremely spoiled. He was the first cavy I let out permanently on the floor. He was great at begging. He would sit on his back, with his front paws in the air, irresistibly cute...

To the left is an old photo of Drutten from 1989. To the right is a photo of Drutten from a few years later when he had just taken a bath, he is still a bit wet...

When I thought he had had enough babies I gave him a sterile female, Cachiri. Drutten and Cachiri had their cage on the floor, and the door to the cage was open all day. After a while Drutten developed the habit of taking a walk around the room late at night, and I didn't want to stop him from doing that so I stopped closing the door to their cage altogether.

Here are two pictures of Drutten, taken on the 25th of March 1994. He's eating oat grass, that I had grown in plant pots for him and his friends.

When this photo was taken Drutten was 6 1/2 years old, and Cachiri was 5 years old.

Drutten had a great personality, he had lots of things going on. He never ceased trying to break into the female cage, even though he was living with a female. Every time I moved any furniture around he came out of his cage as soon as I stopped and checked it over to see what I had done.
