Milky Way's Dana is a Golden, Golden Agouti & White Lunkarya. A Lunkarya is a longhaired guinea pig with rough and wavy hair.
Dana was born on the 4th of July 1998, so she is just 4 years old now. She had a litter, consisting of only one baby - Fox when she was really young. Actually she must have been just 4 weeks old when she got pregnant with her brother Daiku... So when I got Dana she was already pregnant. Fox is still a part of my cavy herd.

Dana & Daiku's father is a great-looking Golden Agouti, Golden & White Peruvian, called Malaxi's Carl. Carl is bred by one of the greatest cavy breeders in Sweden. Daiku still lives with his breeder.

Dana was given to me by her breeder on the 22nd of August 1998, along with her mother Milky Way's Gitza. Here is a photo of Dana's mother Milky Way's Gitza as she looked most of the time.

Gitza was my first Lunkarya, and a very nice and pretty guinea pig.

Gitza died on the 17th of June 2001. She is still missed.

Dana had an extended visit from a Back & White Lunkarya male, called Cumulus, and we were hoping for some Lunkarya babies, but that never happened.

These photos are taken in July 1999. Dana never got pregnant with Cumulus, so then she was seeing another pretty Lunkarya male, her PE White Lunkarya half-brother Aoui, with whom she had C and C's brother Celerion!

Dana is retired from breding now, and I guess she is my prettiest pig. She gave birth to 2 litters with 3 babies (Fox, and then C and Celerion). I gave Celerion, a male, to to Dana's breeder and kept both females Fox and C. Only Fox is still members of my cavy herd.

Dana died on the 23rd of November 2003.
