If you are not sure if cavies are the perfect pet for you, you can always rent two cavies for a couple of weeks and see what happens! Probably you'll decide that you can never live without cavies again...
It is a good idea though to go to the doctor and ask for an allergic checkup, to see if anyone in your family are predestined to be allergic to cavies!
