MC PELENG 8mm f/3.5
circular fisheye
The Peleng 8mm fisheye is made by Belomo in Belorus. It is fully manual, and has an M42 screw mount. Thus it requires an adapter to fit my Canon EOS. (A Nikon adapter is included when the lens is bought.) It also comes with three filters, one of which must be screwed on at the back or else focusing is messed up.
When stopped down, metering works almost flawlessly in AV and P modes. AF does not work, of course. The lens has some issues with optical aberration(s), but only at the edges of the images. Hardly enough to bother me. It's an acceptably sharp lens, and it's certainly one of the funnest lenses I've ever used. The 8mm perspective is awesome, but takes some learning to handle.
