Museum


Jakobstad museum. The Malm Trading House is Jakobstads museum with a traditional link to Jakobstads naval history. It's decorated in an old style, like it was before.


Weapons museum. The collection includes more than 60 hunting rifles that are made by village blacksmiths between 1830 and 1910. The military part spans a period of 200 years. Most of the infantry rifles date from the Finnish wars between 1939 and 1945. Do not miss the "Grafton rifle, a Vetterli rifle having an interesting connection to the local history. The collection also includes beautiful powder horns made of animal horns.(picture)


Tobacco museum. In the Strengberg tobacco factory has been manufactured tobacco since 1762. After 326 years (1998) the production is ending in favor of other manufactures. The museum displays old machinery and stuff used in producing tobacco. It is the oldest tobacco factory in Finland. Phone.: +358 6 78501371.
