Our name is taken from the novel bearing the same title, meaning "Sir Arne's Money", written by famed Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf. (read it here) We felt that the spirit of this dark16th century tale of grisly murder and subsequent ghostly haunting, suited our reportoir of medieval ballads nicely! "Then a black shadow fell upon Elsalill. When she looked up, she saw three fine gentlemen standing before her. They wore hats with long plumages and their clothes were of velvet, silks and gold. One of the nobles in particular gazed intently at Elsalill. He was pale and lean. Perhaps had he recently been ill. He stood there in front of Elsalill like a living ghost. She was frightened." |
