Christer Lewin is a native Stockholmer, starting out musically as a rock drummer during the 60s.

His interest in Swedish traditional music has been ever increasing, and he has been fascinated with Medieval music since childhood. Deeply inspired by Robbie Krieger, the guitarist of the Doors fame, Christer took up the guitar, and you can still detect certain meandering sitaresque echoes in his playing style. In the late 80s he also purchased a Swedish-built flat-back bouzouki, which is very well suited for accompanying both traditional and early music.

The oud – the Arab lute, has been recently added. Christer’s drumming interest eventually shifted towards the playing of various hand-held drums, such as frame drums, darbouka, tabla, gatham etc.

Christer has previously performed in several different constellations through the years, like JumJum Band (assorted traditional music), Misaudor (Medieval) as well as various theatrical assignments.
