Our little boy enjoyed watching the sheep and cattle but I think the highlight of his week, and ours if we were honest, has been picking the raspberries and eating them for supper.

We couldn’t find the guest book so F......drew a picture and we all want to say what a fabulous spot this is! The house is perfect and we are all looking forward to two weeks in July.
The fresh flowers, spices, tea and shortbread on arrival, warm duvets, and electric blankets were very welcome; as was the log fire. You have a very special home here and thank you for letting us stay.

The views, the light and soft air are so lovely at Drumnkyle you could simply soak in Scotland from this one idyllic spot.

Actually sitting still in the conservatory for the first few days,(with an injury) I was able to enjoy watching a wealth of wild life with my binoculars -- 2 nests of Ospreys, a family of Buzzards, the occasional Red Deer, Owls at night, and the wonderful array of small birds that come to the bird table including Gt.Spotted Woodpeckers.

We have done the 'self-catering thing' all over Scotland from Shetland to Edinburgh and Harris to St.Andrews and have found Drumnakyle one of our very best experiences.
The house is in a wonderful location and the immediate surrounding fields were delightful in themselves.

These were some the highlights of our holiday:
1.   Two carriage -driving lessons at the Mark Phillips Equestrian Centre at Gleneagles.  Great fun.
2.  S. enjoyed a half day 'hawkin' experience at Gleneagles.
3 .  At Pitlochry Theatre we were amazed at the quality of the music in 'Masters of the House'.
5.  A long 5 mile walk through the Blackwood of Rannoch.
6.  A short walk through the Hermitage.
7.  A magnificent drive through Glen Lyon.(next to Glencoe our favourite glen in all of Scotland) and back along the old forest track to Glen Lochay and Killin.
8.  The absolutely fantastic Game Conservancy Fair at Scone Palace

I enjoyed the local flora and also the richness of the birdlife......the family of Woodpeckers  visited the nuts regularly.  Your Garden Warbler excelled itself and Redstsrt,Tree Pippit, and Wood Warbler were enjoyable extras.

Things we really appreciated in the house :-  empty clean cupboards in the kitchen.(many s/c. houses have no space for food!).
Good pots and pans of all sizes.
Cling film etc.etc.
Baking tins
Sharp Knives
Kitchen scales.
In fact there was nothing we looked for that you did not have!

Drumnakyle is not quite what I expected; its better!  It is less exposed than I thought it would be and in a more attractive  situation than most photographs of it would suggest.............and besides that it is very well equipped.
We enjoyed the conservatory--particularly when it rained!

Drumnakyle was more of a home than a holiday cottage.

We had lots of fun with the Forsyth's canoe. It is an easy paddle to the Loch Tummel Inn on the North shore for lunch. We look forward to our next visit.

Having mastered the art of fire-making and with the new double-glazing, we were warm and cosy every evening.

The house is very suitable for three year olds, and it has lots of good hiding places for "Hide and Seek".

Our first time at Drumnakyle but our 5th time in the area. Without doubt, this has been the most comfortable and welcoming house we have stayed in!

This is a pretty cool place you have here.
There is so much to see and do. We have been walking, pony-trekking, canoeing and cycling.
