ABOUT MEI am a retired electronics engineer and I live in Linköping, Sweden. Because of my interest in electronics I took a degree in electronics engineering at Högre Tekniska Läroverket in Örebro 1956. My military service was done at the night fighter wing F1 in Västerås.
As I was very interested in aircraft I started my career as a maintenance engineer at the recently formed Simulation Centre at Saab (Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget, Saab Aircraft Ltd) in Linköping. I took a university degree in electronics/computing in my spare time and worked in different positions at the Simulation Centre 1957 - 89, the last seven years I was heading it. The time at the Simulation Centre meant responsibility for design, construction and maintenance of development simulators for the AJ/S/JA37 Viggen, the JAS39 Gripen and the Saab 340/2000.
In 1989 I was appointed head of Sector Information Systems which meant responsibility for all technical and administrative information systems, both hardware and software, for the entire Saab Aerospace Company. After working two years in the cooperation with British Aerospace on the adaption of the Gripen multirole aircraft to Nato standards I took an early retirement in 1999 at the age of 63.
Since 1963 I am married to Lilian and we have two sons and four grandchildren born 1996 - 2002. We have been true to Linköping
all these years.
One of my interests is to keep me informed of the development of society in common in different parts of the world, and especially in economics and technology, through papers, books and radio. I am also interested in good novels, music (especially jazz), travelling, the stock market and above all to nurse my hobbies. I spend a lot of time in front of my computer which is perhaps my main information and work tool, but also in my reading chair and with different projects in my little basement workshop.
